The client.

Outcome Health is a point of care digital content platform that exists in hospitals, doctor’s offices, clinics and infusion centers across the United States.

the opportunity.

Through a joint co-creation session with patients diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer, their caregivers, oncologists, and nurses, we learned that conversations about immunotherapy as a class of treatment aren’t happening enough between patients and their doctors. We learned of this gap in education and persuaded Outcome Health to leverage their platform to educate patients and caregivers while they’re waiting on immunotherapy and to convince them to bring up this topic with their doctor (who they will see in a matter of minutes).

the process.

Through partnerships with the American Lung Association and LUNGevity, we identified three real cancer patients who had been diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer. Their impactful stories on learning about about their condition and their decision to try an immunotherapy treatment helped frame our story. We decided on animation and this specific style to allow our audience to picture themselves in the hero’s shoes. We felt with the use of this illustration style and animation, we can move through transitions quickly and organically.

 
 


The solution.

This video was intended to be the first of its kind, an Outcome Health produced video, and it was important for us that this video leveraged Outcome Health’s branding. We felt the use of the broad color palette could help with the overall story arc, leveraging the bright, vibrant oranges and reds to show a time before diagnosis, using the deep dark purples to show our hero character moving through a difficult period of learning about his cancer and navigating through difficult treatment periods, and finally ending on the vibrant colors to show a new life on immunotherapy treatment.
